Elder Dr. Valerie Wells has a Doctorate degree in Religious Education. She decided to make God her pursuit. She is an avid reader and loves the written word. She received instruction from II Timothy 2:16 to study to show herself approved unto God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. The word of truth concerns Jesus Christ, for in Psalm 40:7 it reads; Then said I Lo, I come in the volume of the book it is written of me. Hebrew 10:7 supports this by repeating: Then said I, Lo, I come (in the volume of the book it is written of me.) to do thy will, O God.

Armed with this revelation she studies the sixty-six books of the Bible looking for Christ, the author and finisher of her faith. She knows that the Holy Spirit helps us in this endeavor because He was sent after the resurrection of Jesus Christ to guide us into all truth. So, to find Christ we must be looking for him with the aid of the Holy Spirit, Who is Christ in us the hope of glory. She believes in letting the main thing be the main thing, pursuing Christ. Those that look for Him, can rest assured, He can be found.

She knows that she lives through the sufficiency of Jesus Christ and she takes no credit for what God has done. She lives by II Corinthians 12:9, And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you for my strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

Elder Wells is married to her husband Walter and together they have five children, sixteen grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. Her hope is that all mankind will get to know Christ for themselves.
